For over 20 years, Torry has been the guiding light in Western Australia’s dive community, steering Coastal Water Dive with unwavering dedication and passion.
As the founder and owner, Torry’s commitment to providing top-tier service is as deep as the ocean itself.
With a lifetime of experience under his belt, he’s navigated countless underwater adventures, ensuring that every diver who crosses his path is well-equipped for their journey.
Torry’s leadership has not only anchored Coastal Water Dive as a trusted name in WA but has also inspired a wave of new divers to explore the depths.
When it comes to diving, Torry is the rock we all rely on, charting the course for a future filled with endless underwater exploration!

Torry has stepped back from the day-to-day management of Coastal Water Dive to continue working on Commercial Water Dive and fulfilling the commercial diving needs of South West WA!

Meet the Manager!

I'm James!
​
Originally from Perth, WA, I have always been drawn to the water. My professional journey began as a sailing instructor certified by Yachting Australia. This experience ignited my passion for instructing and fostering skills in aquatic environments.
After transitioning to diving, I obtained instructor qualifications in recreational diving while working with Tasmanian Divers. Since my introduction to diving in 2016, I have amassed over 2000 dives, exploring depths up to 55m. As of January 2024, I have successfully certified nearly 300 student divers as a lead instructor and contributed significantly to the training of hundreds more.
In my previous role, I distinguished myself as Tasmania's most qualified Dive Instructor and Service Technician. I excel in managing diverse groups, cultivating mentorship programs focused on safety, and overseeing equipment and logistical operations within the diving industry.

I met Torry in Raja Ampat in 2019 and we kept in touch. He found out I was returning to WA and convinced me to come on as the new manager!
Now we're working together to revamp Coastal Water Dive and continue to support the Western Australian dive community!
